High Note

It is really amazing to see your work in print. The current issue of Luxe Magazine has a penthouse apartment which I worked on at Orlando Diaz Azcuy Design Associates {more on my departure later in the post}. After seven years at Orlando’s, I am glad that one of my first big projects at ODADA sees the light of day. This is pretty cool stuff!
Over the years I have worked on so many projects at ODADA, from “show houses” to homes that are for show, on projects where the budgets were tight and ones that were unlimited, and on projects were we designed IKEA kitchens and the kitchens of your dreams. So much variety, so many great experiences.

Living room which we did for Metropolitan Homes show house in 2009. The rug is one sheet of white linoleum.
And then there are the formative projects, like the Stinson Beach house which was completed in 3 months, which won’t ever see print, but which left a huge impact on me. The client’s were lovely, and I am very proud that we employed amazingly talented crafts persons during the height of the great recession. And we took our modern design inspiration from my people…the Scandinavians.
Leaving ODADA wasn’t easy, but I couldn’t resist the new and challenging design opportunities at Scavullo Design. And I’m lucky to join a team of talented individuals, at a firm where the clients and projects are amazing. I’m really going to have fun there! Stay tuned for more design projects in print!
